This Prince Rupert boxer splits his time with hockey
Multi-talented Forest Shale breezed to a win in his first bout on Friday. In what amounted to a sparring session with a game Ben Quaife from Kitamat, Forest showed poise and power in this light-heavyweight bout, barely working up a sweat.
Forest has been fighting for five years, training three days a week. His schedule leaves him time to play on the Prince Rupert Midget hockey team, and as the boxing announcer mentioned , the hockey scouts may be looking at Forest in that sport.
When asked why he got into boxing, Forest replied simply, "I like to fight." If his first fight at the BC Winter Games is any indication, then he is on his way to the medals.
