Richmond badminton coach a happy man

Chris Kwee of Richmond is a very proud man following the BC Winter Games Badminton competition in Cranbrook on Friday. The five different events he coaches all won medals.

Kwee’s players took gold in the Boys’ Doubles and Girls’ Singles; silver in the Girls’ Doubles and Mixed Doubles; and bronze in the Boys’ Singles. His daughter, Willene, is also taking part in these games and goes home with a silver medal herself from the Mixed Doubles competition.

Kwee started coaching Badminton five years ago and works out of several clubs in the Lower Mainland.

When asked the secret of his success he said, “We have been training non-stop for two months to get ready for these games.”

It has obviously paid off for Coach Chris Kwee and his athletes.
