Hungry athletes gobble up 6,000 eggs at breakfast

Feeding 2,000 hungry athletes is a massive undertaking but Food Services director Colin Johnston is taking it all in stride.

With a menu of 6,000 eggs, gallons of orange juice and mounts of muffins, hungry athletes at the Kimberley-Cranbrook BC Winter Games enjoyed their first hardy breakfast Friday morning before heading off the various competitions.

"It's all running smoothly, thanks to a great bunch of volunteers," says Director Colin Johnston. "We're ready to feed the kids a quick and healthy breakfast and get them off to the games."

Over 1,500 young athletes have converged on Kimberley and Cranbrook to compete in the BC Winter Games Feb 21 to 24th.
