Greater Vancouver in Bronze Medal game

Greater Vancouver gets enough to play for Bronze
By Jeff Bromley
Cranbook, BC – Mark Lem of West Vancouver had two goals as Zone 5 – Greater Vancouver dumped Zone 2 – Okanagan 6-1 in the final round robin game of the BC Winter Games Men’s Hockey. Vancouver opened the scoring on a goal by Lem to give them a 1-0 first period lead. Two second period goals, by Zach Yuen of Vancouver at 11:43 and Nick Lee, also from Vancouver, just over a minute later gave the coastal squad a commanding 4-0 lead. Okanagan answered with a goal of their own at 7:53 of the third period by Brock Balson of Kamloops to make it 4-1. Needing a 5-1 score to advance into the Bronze medal game over the Okanagan, Vancouver got two more by Robert Wilkinson of West Vancouver and Brady Brassart of North Vancouver to seal the 6-1 and a berth in the Bronze Medal game against Vancouver Island Sunday morning.
