BC Government officials attend BC Games

Minister of Sport and Tourism, Stan Hagen, was in Cranbrook on Friday to address a civic luncheon at the Kimberley-Cranbrook BC Winter Games.

Minister Hagen formally acknowledged and thanked the Games corporate funding partners, volunteers and community supporters.

Over 150 people attended the civic luncheon, held at Cranbrook's Prestige Inn, including the mayors and community leaders from Kimberley and Cranbrook.

The Province of BC has a strong commitment to the BC Winter Games as a development venue for provincial and national programs before the 2010 Olympics.

Premier Gordon Campbell was in attendance at Thursday's Opening Ceremonies held at the Cranbrook Rec Plex.
